Love Local and Getit Local Delivery Have Joined Forces!
Two Ottawa delivery services have joined forces in a merger to create a single service that will increase support to Ottawa businesses still reeling from COVID-19 related lockdowns. Love Local Delivery and Getit Local, both of whom launched during the worst of the pandemic, will now provide logistics support to local restaurants and retail businesses without outrageous commission fees under the entity of Getit Local.
The new partnership will operate through a mobile ordering platform, Getit Local, which was originally launched by that company in January 2021. The sliding scale monthly subscription-based service is direct competition to existing services Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes which typically charge commission-based fees up to 30 percent of order totals.

Offerings from these neighbourhood gems range from ready-to eat dinners for 1 to 6 ppl, heat and serve prepared meals for your oven or freezer, and meal kits with instructions to finish or prepare at home. These restaurants also offer curbside pick up.

Local eateries have teamed up with local designated driver service Responsible Choice to launch “Love Local Delivery.” A food delivery service responding to the public “Stay at Home” Ottawa City Health guideline to contain COVID-19.

To ensure the safest, most satisfying at-home experience we follow and recommend you follow these practices whenever you order take-out or delivery
Our Drivers Put Safety First
We ensure that our drivers are following all Public Health Agency of Canada recommendations and guidelines. Staying on top of them to report any symptoms or exposure and advise those who do to self-isolate as recommended. Our drivers also frequently wash their hands and clean/ disinfect the vehicles they use.
Contactless Delivery
Simply let the restaurant know that you would prefer no contact with the driver. Give them your specific contactless instructions. For example, when they arrive, they can notify you and leave your food on your doorstep (or where you request).
Handwashing
Please wash your hands after receiving your food order and before you eat it!
Over the Phone Payment for Orders
Pay for your order by credit card payment over the phone, executed by your chosen restaurant.
Cashless Tipping
You can ask the restaurant to add a tip for the driver when you place your orders.
